My colored drawings for February 2013

Hello all my beautiful friends! <3
I know it's been a while but I am having so much fun with my drawings and tags and other art work. On the right side you will find the blog address of where I spend a large portion of my spare time. I am learning a ton from this beautiful teacher and mentor (Adriana Almanza). She is simply amazing in how quickly you can pick things up and learn to draw even if you are a complete beginner. I tell you friends I could not get those facial features right no matter how many instruction books I read and looked at. But Ady as many in the art community call her taught me in little time by just viewing her videos and joining her classes. I am at a really happy time in my life.  I guess art is my calling  (at least for now) because it makes my heart sing! So If you come and see that I am taking long to post anything, just remember I am busy creating art and feeding my happy side!
Below are just a few of the pencil drawings and some colored one's I have done for February. I use Prisma colored pencils , Water color paint and Copics and for outlining I love to use the permanent slickwriter pens in black also fine point sharpies the black or sepia multiliners from Copic are good because they are permanent and resistant to wet media. For the pencil drawings I have just used a regular # 2 Ticonderoga brand pencil. Thanks so much for being here and viewing my post.  Hugs!!
This and most of the colored drawings here were done with Prisma color pencils and some touches of Copics and the white high lights are done with a white opaque jelly roll pen.

This drawings are not by all means finished. I will sometimes work on one and finish the shading or fix something that seems odd to me and I might color them in. Sometimes they end up looking much different then the black and white drawing. But often times after being fixed and colored they end up being so much prettier then the pencil drawings shown here. If  I change any of these I will try to post the color ones so you can see the difference it makes when they are colored in.  Thanks for viewing!

Happy 2013 Everyone!

Hope everyone had a fantastic end of year, and are all starting the new year with lots of inspiration and fresh new crafting ideas.  I have not done much crafting this month but have continue my drawings and so I will post those below. It's always a little hard for me to get back into posting  and creating after the mayor holidays are over.  I think it's because everything gets tossed into my craft room when we are setting up the rest of the house for the festivities. Then when it's all over I have to spend a great deal of time putting old and new decorations away and throwing out boxes and left over crumple tissue and wrapping paper and recycling, just trying to get the room back in working order. I also wanted to mention that even though blogger has not stopped me from posting photos, I have noticed that it has stopped other bloggers from posting their photos and it's sad to see them not posting anymore. I hope there is a fix or work around to this soon, I would hate to see regular bloggers leave because of this. I am going to try really hard this year to get more cards and Scrapbooking done and join a few of the challenges going around. Well, here are the sketches I have done and don't forget I have more below on the November (2012) post also. Hugs to all and happy creating in 2013!

This was for the January challenge on Doll Dreams, we had to just use grey colors and it could be  pencils or markers. I chose four greys from my copic collection and a black copic multi liner and a white jelly roll pen.

I'm trying different hair styles on these faces.

These look a little different from my normal drawings because I  wanted to do some profile and different  looking faces.
Thanks for viewing and lots of hugs to all!

Merry Christmas to all the Scrappy Crafters out there.

I want to say Thank You to all the special bloggers that wished me well on this blog. You all lifted my spirits with your wonderful words. I pray that each and everyone of you's are doing great and enjoying the holiday season. I know it might be hard to enjoy the season in light of the recent news on the Teli. where a recent tragedy sent 20 little angels and six adults back to heaven a week before Christmas. I was shaken to the core and sick to my stomach with this news, but with a lot of praying I am slowing getting some crafting done and I hope you are doing the same.

I joined a Tag swap again, with the amazing Laura hosting it from following the paper trail. We had one last year and it was so much fun but last year it was about 300 people and about 2000 tags so she shorten the group this year to about 100 people and we picked the months that we would like to make tags for. In return we will receive the rest of the months back from the swappers. Below are a few photos of the tags I made and as always I will post the ones I receive after the holidays.

I do create quite a stir (mess) when I'm being creative. lol

I always like to sign my tags with my name and blog address.

These are the June tags, they really did not need a twine or ribbon because they are going to be hung with the little hanger clips. I just tied a little braided cord out of habit.

These are November Tags, I thought the colors were good for Autumn.

I have continued  my drawings and have updated my sketches a few times. You will find them under the thanksgiving post. I will try to find a better place for them so you don't have to scroll so much to find them. Adriana gave us a Christmas gift in the form of a Christmas angel pdf for us to color and post on her ning site. She asked us to make a card out of it. I colored two of them but have not made cards out of them yet. I used prisma color pencils and copic spica glitter pens and a white sakura gelly roll for the eyes and lots of stickles. the pics are below.

I'm still learning how to use the Prisma color pencils and how to blend the colors. As you can see I still need lots of work. They are not as easy as they seem. I think I do better with the Copic markers. I still want to learn to use them properly, so I will continue to practice with them.

Hi, If you have made it down to here please view and read the bottom pics. I just want to introduce Otis, A five month old seal point Siamese Kitten My son adopted for me from the North shore Animal league, to keep me company at home  because a few weeks back my little Gordian finch bird flew away and never came back. My son knew I was sad about that and he said I needed a kitten and he was right! This little bundle of fur has brought joy and  lifted my spirits with his antics (he is also driving the rest of the family crazy, by getting into all there stuff.)  He is one of the rescue animals the shelter brought in from the recent hurricane. I am happy he is healthy and is up to date with all his shots, he will go next week for some kitten blood work and we already have a vet (Yay). Here are some Pics of him.

Here is Otis, a five month seal point Siamese kitten whose favorite pass time is napping. He actually sleeps half the day.
Otis would love to share his brothers meal

No box is safe from kitty,  If he can open it with his paws he will jump right in and he has fallen asleep in them too.

Awww ,  just look at that cute face.

Now following are a few pics of my little guy who has fallen in love with this ball of fluff.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my crafty friends

Hi, I hope everyone is fine and enjoying the holiday season and being thankful for all the Lord has giving us. I had hopes for blogging a few weeks ago, but we all know things don't go as planned.
One day I woke up in the middle of the night with pains all over my hip bones and legs and I could not shake them off, I would be okay during the day not totally pain free but enough that I could walk around and take my son to school and back home. But once I tried to sleep the pains came back and this went on for a week before I told my husband it's time to go to the emergency room.
Well at the hospital they asked the usual questions and hooked my special ID bracelets on and put me in there most comfortable stretcher together with like 30 other sick people. After a long while they took blood samples and sent me up for a scan. To make a long story short the Doctor found nothing wrong with me and sent me home with  pain killers for a week. I took them an about 2 weeks later I was able to sleep without any pain. Seems like I might have over worked my body and had muscle pain (never knew that type of pain before). This past week I have been with a bad cold, I'm slowly getting over it and feeling better. There's nothing better then knowing you are soon getting together with family, to lift your spirits up and forget your pain. I love the holidays!

I also wanted to let you know of a wonderful Lady called Adriana Almanza, I call her my teacher extraordinaire because I have already learned so much from her. she has a lovely teaching blog and Ning site, and she draws and colors the most adorable dolls with huge eyes(many call it big eye art) and I just adore them. She makes journals and she can paint so beautiful, she uses so many different medias like prismas, copics, spectrum noir, acrylic, watercolor and ect. ect. and her work is just a joy to watch. I could go on and on but I will just give you her blog and let you decide for yourself, it is http://www.adrianaalmanza.blogspot.com/  I used to draw many years ago but gave up because I really wasn't that good. And one day I came across one of Ady's youtube videos and I fell in love with her type of art and ever since I have been practicing drawing faces  because she says you must practice practice practice, well you get the point. Here is a small sample of my drawings. It's okay to laugh (some of them are so comical)LOL, But I'm just a beginner and I'm still trying.

I try to do different types of faces and hair styles I also used whatever pen or pencil was available at the moment when I did these. because I practice on my spare time, I don't always have the special sketching pencils on me.  I might have to make a mini kit to carry with me.

I have a lot of problems with facial features and placement especially the eyes (oh I hope I get better lol ).

I uploaded these on Dec. 6, 2012

These are my latest pencil drawings drawn on December 2012

This  pencil drawing is my best one yet, according to the family that is,  hmmm

This was the last recent one, I did not feel like drawing but I did one anyway.
Here are some I had done earlier and forgot to post.
These were done on December 18,2012

Okay I wanted to also show you some bookmarks I did for my grandson's 4th birthday. my daughter set it up in Funtopia USA and she wanted the goodies to be Batman for the boys and Lalaloopsy for the girls. I made some batman and Lalaloopsy coloring books with free coloring pages I found online. The bookmarks I did with the free images I found online I colored them with Bic Markers and the skin tone I used copic markers. I cut them out and  pasted them to chipboard and put some cute pattern paper on the back, I ran into a little problem when I modpodged the bookmarks because they bubbled slightly but once dried they were okay. Here are the Pics below.

Here are the coloring books I made for the kids. I forgot to take a pic of the final ones I did with the colored covers which I made from cardstock.

Here are the Pictures of the children enjoying themselves and of some of the other family members.
