Card using Cricut cartridge

I made this simple card using the cricut cartridge  (straight from the nest). This cartridge has the cutest birds and lots of words and sayings for cards or layouts. I really like it and i think I will use it alot especially with Easter coming up. I took an already embossed card and after cutting the bird with the cricut and Pasting it to the card I colored the embossed raised edges with my markers, it came out so cute. Thanks for viewing

Here are the 3 cards I made for Sebastian

Love this bicycle image
I like taking embossed cards and coloring the raised designs with my markers. I still need a long way to go in learning how to color with copic markers,. but I'm just having fun coloring with them.
I sure can make a mess when I'm scrapping!

Anyway  for the cards I cut up some of the pattern paper suitable for a boy and  I chose some of the boy images and I punched out some simple shapes out of colored cardstock . I also colored the raised embossing with the markers. The  bicycle, airplane and car are from  some old  booklets called hot off the press. I have had them forever and they have  sheets and pattern paper with cute images in them, but nothing like the beautiful designs available today.

Cards for Sebastian

This past weekend, I took some time to make a few cards for a darling and sick little boy named Sebastian. I found out about him when I paid a visit to the blog of a very nice lady named Ana, from Scrappy Pink Corner. She had told a little about him and put the link on her blog.  I read the story of Sebastian over at ginger's house ( the blog belongs to his teacher) and she tells his story with the parents permission.

This little boy has a condition called Arthrogryposis, it means that this little boy's bones stiffen and he has abnormally developed muscles. Sebastian's arms, hands, legs and feet are affected by this condition. He has many scars over his little body, from all the surgeries and still more to come. He will soon have to endure another surgery and his teacher just had one wish, for his hospital room to be filled with cards so that when he wakes up he can see how much people care and to show him how special he is.

His teacher (God bless her) says that she has actually learned what the quote "You are as happy as you choose to be" really means, this little boy who has every right to be angry at the world, isn't angry at all.
He has chosen to be happy and that happiness is contagious.  Thanks for viewing

Happy Valentine's Day to all my bogger friends

My sweet hubby came home with a pound of my favorite chocalates. He also gave me the go ahead to order the Cameo Silhouette last week as a Valentine's gift for me, and it should arrive later on today ( very happy to have a new toy to play with).  I love digi stamps and have purchase  some, and others I have downloaded for free. I found this one laying around my table. I had colored and cut it out a while ago and thought it went perfect with the heart my husband gave me (this is what usually happens when I eat  what I shouldn't) LOL.

I WON, I WON I won a prize for turning in this layout over at The Scrap Beach

This is the second layout I made for the challenge over at Kathryn from the scrap beach. It had to have the colors red white and blue.  I did a very simple layout because the boy paper I chose, from K and Company is a very busy one. I just did a little  guy in the team colors. I  cut the little boy with the cricut on white paper, so I could color him with my copics. ( It was not pretty he came out looking like he has a bad tan). I guess I'm going to have to Utube copic lessons. I did cut the white and yellow card stock trimmed them all around  I cut his outfit also with the cricut using the cartridge (every day paper dolls). I had plans to do a lot to this layout ( who am I kidding) being new and slow at this I couldn't come up with anything else. I'm still learning and having a lot of fun. Thanks for viewing

First challenge layout I ever made

This is the first layout I made  for Kathryn's (from the scrap beach) challenge. We had to make a layout or card of any size with layers. So being in the month of love, I used a new cricut cartridge called Victorian romance. It has beautiful images suitable for the month of February, or for making love and romance layouts or cards. From this cartridge I cut the 2 bottom hearts in deep red card stock from Wausau  and I could not resist blinging them with red rhinestones. I also cut the true love fonts from the same cartridge as well as the kissing couple (so cute) the couple required 3 layers and the tiny pieces were a bit tricky, but they turned out okay. The frame was from the cartridge fancy frames. The enchanted heart is from a Martha S. punch and the side edge is cut from a page from the immortal love paper stack from DCWV, I used a fiskers punch called lace to detail the edge. I added the little red bird to finish the page. The back ground page is from Wausau  card stock called shades and the color I chose is Astroparche, Its a beautiful sand color marble looking paper.(the picture does not show the detail very good).I think I did good for a first try.I'm happy with the out come.
